A Board Assessment...

...provided insights to a funder that was contemplating the effectiveness of their board.  Their commitment was strong to continue to evolve as a board to best meet the agency's needs. Their assessment demonstrated signs of readiness in the board SWOT.  The CEO and chair appreciated the consultation to 'test the temperature' of the board to move forward and shed some antiquated patterns. We conducted the assessment and facilitated their board retreat, resulting in shared goals and specific new board engagement. We further developed strategies for the next 3 years, identifying measurable benchmarks for implementation.

Strategic Planning...

...the impetus with a health agency to increase strategic alliances and expand into new programs that deepened their client reach. The board and senior staff had great respect for each other, yet had different tolerances for risk to embark on new ventures.  The planning process surfaced real needs, key concerns, healthy growth targets, new resources and a shared vision to move forward.  During our two, four and twelve month follow-up meetings, the agency was on track and made minor revisions along the way to their implementation plan.  Three outreach satellites were being established with metrics for performance in out-state MO and IL.  Over five years, five clinical care centers were up and running providing specialty care.

The Annual Campaign Analysis...

...sparked both knowledge and increased partnership among the staff, board and development committee to set new goals and strategies.  Data analytics no longer scared them, as the tools provided clarity. Upon conclusion of the data analysis, the staff emerged with greater confidence to tweak campaigns based upon knowledge of their 3 year dependency quotients, fundraising costs, and performance trend lines. The development committee had better understanding of opportunity and presented the findings to the board.  The following year's budget demonstrated risk built on knowledge, new strategies and greater board engagement to raise needed revenue.  This agency had been primarily supported through government funding and is implementing strategies to shift to a more robust fundraising plan.
